My happy place

As I said in a previous post, the home decorating is coming along.  I can't tell you how many times in the past 6 months or so I've felt exactly like Carrie Bradshaw from the scene in the Sex in The City II movie when she tells the salesperson at the store that she's been cheating on fashion with furniture.  Truthfully, when I think back, I've been back and forth between fashion and home decor for most of my adult life.  The funny part is that when I moved into this place in October and started having ALL kinds of home decor ideas, my first thought was 'noooo.... don't forget about clothes, you have a fashion blog!' LOL.  Silly me.  I can write about whatever I want, yes?  Don't mind if I do. :)

The new(ish) place is starting to feel more and more like a home every day.  The one room on the main floor that has been left completely untouched is the dining room.  People... it's time to change this.  Sadly, the primary hold up with the dining room is that I couldn't make up my mind about what I wanted.  This actually turned out to be a good thing, because after seeing how some other things turned out in the loft, I've had time to think about what NOT to do in the dining area.  I'm still somewhat undecided, but these are some pics I'm looking to constantly for inspiration:

    I know what you mean, I've been spending more time on home decor things than fashion the past couple months and thinking the same thing!

    Haha, no I don't mind, I'm exactly like you. I love home decor, and buying clothes, and products... But I have one budget for it all every month, so I have to cheat sometimes.
    My very first blog was about home decor...but then I found out I preferred blogging about skin care and beauty.
    Keep posting home decor if you'd like, I'd still check your blog with envy.

    Ooooh I love these, I really need to start getting our house in order we've been here since beginning of Oct. and the only rooms done are the kid's and the bathrooms...sad, sad.

    Fantastic inspiration! And decorating always takes a lot of time. In the end you want to feel comfortable and it is usually a bigger investment than a piece of clothing (ok, it can be the other way around as well. ;-)). Looking forward the results. :-) Happy Monday!

    So many pretty looks! I have so much to do in our new dining room, namely artwork. The walls are so bare and I don't even like my dining room table anymore. oh what you learn! Can't wait to see how your whole house is looking.

    Great inspiration! I have a ton if online ideas books on houzz and from blog hopping from when we renovated. A bit like yours, the white clean walls kept appearing and I'm so glad I went for white. Spacious and airy yet comfortable . Good luck x
