Gweneth in Tom Ford... SERIOUSLY my best dressed. Her hair was a little plain (didn't like the rubber band for the Oscars) but her makeup was flawless and obviously the dress was stunning. Also, Gweneth makes me never want to eat carbs again. I'll be researching the GOOP diet immediately. Thanks, Gwen.
Yes, I know Nicole Kidman wore a similar dress a few years ago. It was a different color red (not fuchsia, like this one) and was a different silhouette completely. That being said, it is a red color dress with a bow at the neck. And I LOVE IT. Besides, Emma is such a cutie and can do know wrong. She was adorable when she was presenting!
Apparently I'm the only person who loved this Elie Saab dress on Berenice Bejo... and I'm ok with that. I'm not even on this pastel/mint trend with everyone else... and I STILL loved this dress. I love the shape and the the details, and her skin looks amazing in it.
Okay, this wasn't actually a best dressed nominee for me - mostly because of the fit (it was cutting into her bust pretty badly). But it's McQueen. On Jessica Chastain. And she DEFINITELY wins best hair and makeup...seriously gorgeous.
I was so obsessed with Gwyneth's look!!! Hope you had a great weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteI love Emma Stone's look, the red color and the bow are so gorgeous :)
ReplyDeletegwyneth stole the show in tom ford. WOW. this may be her best dressed everything of all time. xx
ReplyDeleteGwyneth was the best dressed, no doubt about that! Another one of my favourite looks was actually Sandra Bullock in Marchesa! She's done some bad choiches earlier, but this time she looked truly gorgeus:)
ReplyDeleteYou are not the only one who loved the mint Elie Saub - I loved it too. Their designs are flawless. She looks so ladylike but also comfortable. And the sheer detail around the arms and neckline! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks - thanks for the recap since I missed the entire red carpet...boo! :( I think Gwyneth was my fave too - does she ever miss?

ahaha, should head to GOOP now as well, and agree with you re: Jessica's hair and make-up. Stunning.
ReplyDeletei'm glad you did a recap. the only part i actually watched was emma stone presenting and part of the cirque de soleil. i agree with you on J. Chastain...the dress is very McQueen and therefore amazing, but it did not fit well. Like Cameron Diaz was being interviewed and very much sounded as if she was having trouble breathing. they tried to make her have a waist..and she just doesn't. gwyneth is just superb.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know I wasn't the only one a little bummed! I thought the dresses were so-so - see, whoever decided the dates, this is what happens when you make the Oscars the SAME week as Fashion Week! I was hoping for a lot more drama and haute couture. That said, Gwyneth hands down is my best. Fashion forward AND impeccable! Love the diamond cuff on her too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gwyneth and Emma but I also loved Michelle Williams and Viola Davis. So gorgeous!
ReplyDeletetotally agree with your picks! Emma Stone was my favorite! www.casualglamorous.com
ReplyDeleteGwyneth was totally my favorite too!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! Consider me your new stalker :) (in the none creepy way, ha ha)

I'm glad you featured the mint Elie Saab, I loved it! I also agree with you on Jessica Chastain's hair and makeup = perfection! Emma Stone was my overall fave though.
ReplyDeleteI thought Gwyn looked amazing of Tom Ford!

ok...gwyneth...i SO agree. she makes me want to buy the tracy anderson workout videos and never eat from a package/can/jar again. emma...just LOVE her. and jessica's hair??? i am already pinning pics so i can try to copy it. love the half up sexy hair! but my all time FAVE dress was the white markesa that shailene woodley wore. i DIE for it. i want to renew my vows and wear it. LOVE that dress.

I loved Gwyneth's dress! It was my absolute favorite. I loved Emma's as well. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteLoved that you included hair, makeup and SKIN on your blog comments. I didn't like the mint green only because it was too "old" for Berenice. Would have loved a flapper-esque reprisal of some sort for her. What did you think about some of the less typical skinny-white-girls on the red carpet this year?
ReplyDeletelove emma's and gwen's dresses...
ReplyDeleteI thought Gwenyth looked amazing. So...statuesque.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite of these is definitely Emma's look! The color of the dress is fabulous! xo, Christina
